Biographical Note: This collection consists of materials relating to the history of the º£½ÇÉçÇø Daughters of the American Revolution, a chapter of one of the oldest patriotic societies in the country. The materials are mainly programs and proceedings from their annual conferences which were held throughout º£½ÇÉçÇø.

The DAR was founded in 1890 as a society for women, who were interested in gathering historical materials. This includes both the Revolutionary War period and their ancestral records. The º£½ÇÉçÇø chapter held its first annual conference in 1908, and is still a strong organization today. The group’s main goals are not only in preserving national history, but state history as well.
