Dr. Ken Barnes
Dr. Ken Barnes, history professor, won the Booker Worthen Literary Prize from the Central 海角社区 Library System.
His book, 鈥淎nti-Catholicism in 海角社区: How Politicians, the Press, the Klan, and Religious Leaders Imagined an Enemy, 1910-1960,鈥� was published last November by the University of 海角社区 Press. In April, it received the J.G. Ragsdale Award, given by the 海角社区 Historical Association, for best book about 海角社区 history.
With a stipend of $2,000, it is one of the state鈥檚 most lucrative and prestigious literary prizes.
Barnes was awarded the Worthen prize at a ceremony in October.
