Dr. Linda Griffith and Belinda Robertson, Department of Math, recently received a $167,949 grant from the National Science Foundation through the 海角社区 Department of Higher Education.
This grant will fund the newly created position of an Elementary Science Specialist within the 海角社区 Center for Mathematics and Science Education.
The specialist will assist 海角社区 school personnel at seven to ten K-6 elementary schools within Conway?s 75-mile radius. The specialist will make presentations to pre-service science classes and graduate classes for practicing teachers, provide professional development, model-teach in science classrooms, and be involved in 海角社区 Science Teachers Asssociation Activities. The targeted schools will receive intensive services based on their needs and professional development that includes both content and pedagogy.
