UNIVERSITY CHORUS CONCERT SET FOR THURSDAY, APRIL 26

CONWAY 鈥� The University of Central 海角社区 University Chorus will be in concert Thursday, April 26, at 7:30 p.m. in the Snow Fine Arts Recital Hall.
The concert, free and open to the public, will include a men鈥檚 chorus, women鈥檚 chorus and conclude with a combined choir selection.
鈥淭his semester we have separated into a women’s chorus and a men’s chorus so that our students can explore some of the important music literature composed for those specific ensemble types,鈥� said Dr. Ryan Fisher, director of the University Chorus.
The University Chorus is a non-auditioned ensemble composed of students from various majors. Until recently, the University Chorus was always a group of both male and female singers. This concert marks the first time that the chorus will be segmented into a women鈥檚 chorus and men鈥檚 chorus to enhance the concert overall.
The program for the Women鈥檚 Chorus includes “Gloria” from Mass No. 6 by Orban; 鈥淎ure Volanti鈥� by Caccini; 鈥淢y True Love Hath My Heart鈥� by Rutter; 鈥淭orna a Surriento鈥� arranged by Shields; and 鈥淎in’t No Grave Can Hold My Body Down鈥�, arranged by Caldwell and Ivory.
The program for the Men鈥檚 Chorus includes 鈥淛onah’s Song鈥� by Schickele; 鈥淭he Last Words of David鈥� by Thompson; 鈥淏eati Mortui鈥� by Mendelssohn; 鈥淐anst Thou Love Me, Lady?鈥� by Ramsey 聽and 鈥淢arry a Woman Uglier Than You鈥�, arranged by Wilson.
The combined chorus will conclude the program with 鈥淢y Soul’s Been Anchored in the Lord鈥�, arranged by Hogan.
