Ongoing Events (February 9-12)

  • CAHSS Reach TV Feature: During ten-minute breaks between classes, CAHSS Reach TVs will feature students reading from the听Declaration of Independence听in multiple languages. Coordinators: Sofie Stounberg and Dr. Jen Parrack (School of Language and Literature)

Monday, February 9

  • 4-5 pm – Student Q&A with Artist in Residence听Ren茅e Elise Goldsberry,听hosted by Professor Lauren Carlton (Department of Film, Theatre, and Creative Writing), James M. Bridges Black Box Theatre, Windgate Center for the Fine and Performing Arts
  • 5:00 pm – Public Event: Prelude Performance of Patriotic Music by Pinnacle Brass (Department of Music),听Reynolds Performance Hall Lobby

  • 6:00 pm – Public Film Screening:听Hamilton with Talk Back by Ren茅e Elise Goldsberry,听Reynolds Performance Hall

  • Fife and Drum Performance听by Katie McManus (percussion) and Kami Curtis (piccolo)
  • Performance of 18th-century American music,听by Dr. Ben Thorburn (harpsichord and vocals), Clara Spivey (flute), Mary Ruth Kitchens (vocals), and the UCA Collegium Singers (Department of Music)
  • Independence Day Wish for America Tree
  • Interactive 250 Cabinets, created by first-year art students, invite you to handle, reveal, and reflect on the American experiment. Coordinated by Professor Leslie Macklin (Department of Art and Design), Fireplace Room, McCastlain Hall.
  • Special birthday cake and punch
